Fairfield Inn & Suites in Springfield, Missouri Earns LEED Silver Certification
[SPRINGFIELD, MO – November 20, 2019] Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott has been awarded LEED 2009 New Construction Silver level of certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building program. The LEED system is the foremost program for buildings, homes, and communities designed, constructed, maintained, and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.
Constructed in 2018, The Fairfield Inn and Suites in Springfield is a 55,637 square-foot full-service hotel, complete with four stories, 103 rooms, multiple business meeting facilities, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. Conveniently located off I-44 Exit 80, the hotel is adjacent to the Doubletree Hotel and only minutes away from several popular local attractions.
From design to construction to daily operations, Fairfield Inn & Suites Springfield developed and managed by O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC, has, and will continue to practice environmental responsibility, as this is a driving standard originating from O’Reilly Hospitality’s pursuit to be a leader in sustainable development. “Working with an ownership team that cares about the environment as much as O’Reilly Hospitality has been refreshing,” said Katie Breshears, Entegrity Project Manager. “Each member of the project team was dedicated to ensuring the successful achievement of LEED Silver Certification. The result is a highly efficient hotel that provides a healthy space for all of the guests and employees, with minimal impact to the environment.”
“We oftentimes use the LEED system because it can help us generate a smarter design that is better for the bottom line and reduces our carbon footprint, which are two of our biggest priorities at O’Reilly Hospitality Management,” added CEO Tim O’Reilly. We hope that this LEED designation and its commitment to sustainability will inspire our team members, guests and others in our industry to fight the global emergency of climate change.”
LEED is a voluntary third-party verified green building rating system that addresses the site, water energy, materials, and indoor environmental quality of the facility.
